Tim Parker leads The Bloom Group’s business development activities and manages client research initiatives that develop "thought leadership" and enable them to achieve prominence in their markets.
For more than 20 years, Tim has been a management consultant, a consulting practice leader and head of business development at consulting and IT services firms, and an entrepreneur. Tim began his consulting industry career in 1987 at the Index Group, a Cambridge, Mass.–based management consulting firm that pioneered the practice of business reengineering. He was an IT strategy and reengineering consultant at the firm (later called CSC Index after its 1988 acquisition by Computer Sciences Corp.). He rose through the ranks to become a vice president in 1993.
From 1995 to 1998, Tim was a vice president and head of the diverse industries practice at CSC’s UK consulting and systems integration, where he increased annual revenues from £5 million to £50 million. He then joined Cadence Design Systems Ltd. as vice president of European electronic design consulting services. Over two years, he increased bookings from $30 million to $80 million per annum. He then headed business development for a London–based management consulting and IT services firm, Differentis Ltd.
Since 2001, he has been a consultant and entrepreneur, managing a children’s play equipment company. He sold the company in June 2005.
Tim graduated with an MBA from London Business School and MIT Sloan School in 1987. He earned his undergraduate degree from Cambridge University in England in 1981. Tim and his family live in Rockport, Mass. He is a keen pilot, fisherman and skier.
